God, I totally surrender myself to You.

God, I totally surrender my will to Your Will.

God, thank You for helping me be Your servant.

God, thank You for helping me use my talents and abilities to serve You best.

God, thank You for helping me stand aside so You can work through me.

God, thank You for helping me recognize You in my self.

God, thank You for helping me recognize You in everyone and everything.

God, thank You for helping me recognize my Self.

Nice one, Jim! Quite beautiful and simple.

A good thing to remember during the prayer, too…
Who is the “I’…is it Jim, (the human being) or the Atman (the inner self) speaking the prayer?

Very good point, Tom. The little self is surrendering itself to God.

I have plenty of room for new realizations.

    no path at all

    there is no path
    but the path
which is no path at all

    the past and the
    future are
    memories and dreams that

    are not framing
    the present
they are not real per se

    just in your mind
    use it to
    see the perfection that is

not that it may be of any particular significance to anyone, but I write songs and play guitar. My prayer has been “God, may my music be from and of you. May I be your instrument and may I stay in tune”.

just an aside from the above aside: “amen” simply means to the effect of “so it is”.

    Dearest Jim,
I have a question and hope that you can give me an answer.
I have been meditating for quite some time and have become rather depressed
and very agitated as the meditations didnt seem to get me to my desired result i.e peacefull and filled with happiness and love. Days later I had heard in my mind ‘Dark night if the soul’ which I ignored until recently and realised what
I was was going through. Guess my inner Self was talking to me. I had quite some satisfaction
in realising that what I was going through was perfectly normal and that it was only ego trying to hold
on to the normal fearfull state of living. That being said I realised that you just have to let it be and go with
the flow. That really helped a lot. Only the issue is, is that the further i progres in my meditation, which I do
know it is progressing, i that when I go to sleep, I start hearing voices in my mind, not clear, but a load of chitter
chatter, I try to wake up but feel a aensation of something holding me down. Im nit much into the demon stuff a I believe
one way or the other that my mind is playing tricks on me to stop me from furthering my meditation. I also keep thinking
Im awake, and as my eyes are open(at least in my dream state i think they are, I am looking at the cieling. I get confused because it looks like I am actually looking at it from an upward position… then logic comes ro mind and i noticed I am lying down. I have no idea what is going on so then blame it yet again on the dark night of the soul.
When you go theough the dark night of the soul, is it also comprosed of nightmares?
Thank you for helping me understand and maybe help me out.
    Kind regards

      Hi Monique,

There are a number of things that can help.

When we are bummed out it helps to work our way up through anger.

One way to do this is to dance angry for a little while. You can go to YouTube.com and play some music from a group called Garbage for your anger dance.

After that you can dance to feel good, upbeat music.

Please let me know how it goes.
