This is much more powerful than you might have imagined. You probably have heard of the Law of Effect – what you reinforce becomes stronger. Or you get more of what you reinforce. This is sometimes called the Law of Attraction.

However, this is somewhat of a limited view. In addition to attracting we are uncovering more of what is already there.

Here’s how it works. We notice something in our physical environment and describe it verbally or in writing. As we describe that we notice more to describe. This can go on without limit.

We can begin with describing physical objects. And we continue with describing mental images. As we describe these mental images we notice more and more about them.

It’s been said that we use only a tiny portion of our brains. That tiny portion is the logical, verbal part of our brains. The vast unused portion is mostly related to images. This image portion is immensely vast and powerful. It contains “unthought of” creative solutions to problems. It contains creativity beyond problem solving. It contains information on anything we’ve experienced.

We get more of what we reinforce. One way to reinforce these awarenesses is to speak them or write them in detail. We describe them without stopping to evaluate them. We let the descriptions unfold (come through us) in a stream of consciousness fashion.

I believe that regular practice can help us live in a whole new world.

Joyful, reinforced discovery spawns learning and creativity.

Your friend,

It happens all the time. You express gratitude and you feel better. Somebody else expresses gratitude to you and you feel better. You hear someone else expressing gratitude to another and you feel better.

This is simple and yet amazingly powerful. You can take command of your own level of happiness.

This works even if you do it silently. You can look at a delivery truck and feel gratitude for how that truck is bringing food to your favorite store. You can look at a safety patrol worker and feel gratitude for how they are protecting our youth.

There is no end to opportunities for feeling grateful.

One thing I do frequently is write statements of gratitude as part of the twenty minute bliss exercises. This routine always raises my mood – often dramatically.

So why not take command of your own level of happiness? This is the perfect day for it.

May the bliss be with you.

With gratitude,

Positive thinking and affirmations are supposedly a cure all for every problem in your life.

Some people will tell you to completely ignore reality. Supposedly, if you ignore something, it will go away.

The positive thinking idea is that you can have such a high vibration that only good things happen. Everything else is supposed to fall out of existence.

My personal choice is to look both ways before crossing the street. And I choose to read contracts before signing them.

Let’s look at a couple of definitions.

Positive is what you like.

Negative is what you don’t like.

The alternative to positive thinking is the approach of deleting negatives. After you delete enough negatives, there is nothing left but the wonderful you.

However, it seems that you can keep deleting negatives forever. If we do nothing but delete negatives, we can create holes in the energy fields around our bodies. This opens the door for more negatives to enter.

With either of these systems we can get into a state where we’re resisting negatives.

You know what happens when you resist things. They persist.

When we get into resisting negativity, we can actually intensify the negativity. This is one of the traps of positive thinking.

If you spend much time with the audio meditations on this website, you’ll see that the exercises add positives while subtly letting go of negatives.

Transformational Breathing energizes your body and energy field. At the same time, if you breathe into uncomfortable feelings, you release those uncomfortable feelings.

One good approach is to start working on some project that excites you. When negatives come up, and they certainly will, you simply release them. The meditation audios will help you.

November 23, 2004 – Update

A few days ago the latest book from Abraham showed up in my life. I’ve been devouring the information and the processes.

The idea is that you focus on the positive and totally remove your attention from the negative. You expand whatever you focus on.

I can tell you one thing. After doing the processes, I feel really, really good.

There will be more about this as I progress.

Note: I originally wrote this article in 2004.

2006 – 2007

I have written the Blissercise Book and have done hundreds of blissercises (bliss exercises). Blissercises go way beyond positive thinking because they:

bypass the logical mind and work with the super consciousness

work with the Real You rather than the false identity that we thing we are.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the Abraham Hicks appreciation exercises could quickly bring you to a state of joy. Well perhaps they could.

The exercises in the back of “Ask and It Is Given” have been a dependable way to raise the way I feel. The book has a smorgasbord of 22 exercises to lift your spirits and your emotions. And they can enhance the way you experience life.

You can select the exercise(s) that fit your mood level. For example, if you happen to be feeling in the pits, you can select one or more exercises that will help you get out of the pits.

Once you’ve risen …

you can select another exercise that is appropriate for your better feeling mood. That will take you even higher. If you keep following this approach, you can get yourself out of a funk fairly quickly.

Once you’re feeling good, you don’t have to stop there. There is no limit to how good you can feel. The temptation is to stop once you start feeling good.

You can certainly kick back and enjoy your wins for the rest of the day. However, if you practice these Abraham-Hicks appreciation exercises daily, you’ll keep feeling better and better.

Accentuate the Positive

The vast majority of self-help systems emphasize getting rid of mental and emotional garbage. But what you put your attention on expands.

In other words, if you keep looking for mental and emotional garbage, you’ll find it. Without end.

The Abraham-Hicks appreciation exercises keep adding positives. When you keep doing this, you get on a real roll and keep finding more good stuff. This puts you on a rocket ride to the good life.

You enter the good life and it keeps getting better and better.

By the way, this is one of the most powerful, simplest, and safest ways for you to improve your life experience.

You can click here to see a partial list of my various consciousness explorations.

Have you done any of these exercises yourself?

Would you be interested in a retreat that includes Abraham-Hicks exercises?

Should I do that?

Well, if someone tells you about any real or imagined health problems, then they’re inviting you to hold a mental picture about them having those issues. And they’re strengthening their own image of them having those health problems.

However, the opposite holds true. I can create images of my perfect health. I can tell you and others truthful positive things about my health. This helps support our mutual creation of my optimum health.

My breathing exercises are increasing my life energy and connection with The Divine.

I’m using my new blender to create healthy meals and snacks. I’m feeling energetic and alert.

I’m doing the right exercises for me.

I love to make and eat healthy salads.

I’m blessed to share a home with an organic gardener and nutrition expert.

My spiritual practices enhance every area of life, including my health.

Does meditation go better during periods of isolation?

It did for me.

My friend, Roger, pays $75 a month to rent a tiny, rustic cabin in the high desert area of Joshua Tree, California. Talk about a great meditation environment!!!

Since, Roger was going to be out of town for a month, he invited me to stay in his cabin. My only duties were to water his oasis and keep the place clean.

This “meditation retreat center”, all 300 square feet of it, had an outdoor rest room and shower. When going from the kitchen to the main room, you had to be careful not to step down too hard on the floor. The boards were about to give way.

The winter wind would whistle through the walls bringing gratitude for my warm clothing. There were four forms of heating in my new found meditation retreat center.

1. The stove / fireplace in the corner of the main room. A good log would help keep you warm for up to two hours.

2. The reclining chair with the vibrator / heating pad. Wear a warm coat and cover yourself with a blanket. Once you turn on the heat you’re all set. You have your own meditation chair.

3. The propane powered stove in the kitchen. This works when you stand next to it.

4. My new best friend. This was a six inch square heating pad in the bed.

Roger was still there for the first three nights of my stay. (We were both assisting Judith Kravitz in a Transformational Breathing training.)

So I slept in the reclining chair. The main challenge was to breathe while keeping my face covered. This was necessary so my eyeballs wouldn’t freeze at night. I’m not kidding.

Having left me with detailed instructions for the propane heat and the port-a-potty, Roger drove off on his excursion to Northern California. I was now the sole resident of this high desert meditation center. Since Roger stayed out of town two weeks longer than expected, I enjoyed six weeks at my new found home base.

The next six weeks turned out to be one of the greatest experiences of my life. I had this phenomenal, comforting feeling of gratitude. This was some of the strongest gratitude I ever felt in my life.

I was grateful to God for steering me into this wonderful situation. I was grateful to Roger for letting me stay in his cabin. Although the air was cold, you could feel the personal warmth that enveloped the environment.

This was the perfect meditation situation.

Roger had a phone, so I was able to stay in touch with the outside world when appropriate. However, it wasn’t appropriate that often.

Steve, one of my releasing partners, kept telling me how much he wished he could be in my situation. He’d like to have a cabin ten miles from mine so we could walk to visit each other. I told him that I preferred a couple hundred yards.

During this meditation period my whole life was a leap of faith. My intuition rocketed. Or at least I listened better without the constant hum drum of every day life.

Taking a shower was a major event. Since I was showering with a hose outdoors, it was important to select a time when there was no cold wind. Also, a car would come by every half hour or so. I managed to head for cover whenever a car was coming.

There were a number of very magical experiences.

Although I was in the middle of nowhere with no car, I managed to get places when appropriate. My intuition strongly told me to take one of my rare showers this one particular morning. About an hour later, my friend ReHanna showed up and invited to drive me to the nearby energy enhancement system. One of the two inventors was there, so I had a chance to talk with him. It was very fascinating to say the least. He’s the super intellectual type. He started talking about chaos theory and suggested that I read a popular book on the subject.

(Note: Later I did read the book and figured out how to create my own version of an energy enhancement system. However, my intuition told me to not walk down that particular path.)

There was another very magical experience when I was at my desert oasis meditation center. One morning I decided to see if I could somehow get the shuttle into town. I hadn’t made the required phone call the day before.

As I was walking down the unkept dirt road, this old, beat up cab slowly approached me from behind. The driver was a dead ringer for Michael Moore, the Fahrenheit 9/11 guy. He was appropriately sporting the two day old beard.

The driver offered me a free ride into town. Why not! God is with me. It looked like my concentrated meditation practice was paying off.

This was not your typical cab driver. He told that he never waited at a cab stand to get customers. He never accepted new customers via phone calls.

Of course I asked him how he got customers for his cab business. He replied “Magic.” Now he really had my attention.

Who the heck was this Michael-Moore-look-alike cab driver in the middle of nowhere? How did I have the good fortune to meet him under such unlikely circumstances? Why am I asking you?

Of course I asked him to tell me more about how he used magic to get customers. He said “Look at that mountain. What do you see?”

“A mountain” I said.

“No. I see beauty.” said my drive thru teacher. “I use the energy of that beauty to create what I choose. The only hard part is to believe that you can do it.”

Whoa!!! Here I am in the middle of nowhere. And I’m getting advanced life enhancement training from a cab driver who came out of nowhere squared. Is this cool or what?

Apparently my meditation exercises were opening me to some awesome experiences.

My drive-thru guru dropped me off in town. That was the last time I ever saw him.

Only one question remains. Could that have actually been Michael Moore?

With gratitude,

Jim Kitzmiller

P.S. Here’s my translation of this creation process.

1) Visualize your creation.

2) Imagine that nature’s beauty is energizing your creation.

The Law of Attraction has swept the self-help world. You’ve probably experienced it yourself. You’ve been on a roll with gratitude. It seems that the more you’re grateful for, the more blessings you get.

I’m grateful to God for the means to help people experience life in a happier way. And I’m grateful to you for the wonderful feedback. Thank you so much.

The other day I went into my favorite coffee shop and bought just a cup of coffee. This happened to be the wonderful situation of being the right person in the right place at the right time.

The cashier gave me two souffles. They had apparently reached their expiration time. They would either wind up in the garbage or my stomach. My stomach was the winner. As always I radiated gratitude and thanked my new friend.

This happened again the following morning.

The third morning I stood in line for the cashier so I could place my coffee order. My friend filled a tray with two souffles, a coffee cup, and handed it to me while I was in line.

My response was a heartfelt thank you. But it also contained a feeling of guilt.

“Who am I to receive all these goodies without paying money?” The guilt feeling was very strong. It accompanied me to my usual booth where I sat down with my writing device.

Fortunately I knew how to let go of things. So I spent a good part of the day letting go.

Then I was wondering if these gifts came because of the way I looked. Depending on your viewpoint you might think that I looked like a homeless person, a mountain man, or a guru. So I got a haircut and a beard trim.

When I came today my friend didn’t say anything about the new look. But she still gave me two free souffles.

The gift gave me the opportunity to demonstrate the amazing scope of gratitude, blessings, and acceptance.

Guilt stands in the way of acceptance. Letting go of guilt opens up acceptance. It also empowers more gratitude and blessings.

You’ve heard the old saying “It’s better to give than to receive.”

But it’s vital to be willing to receive.

Receiving empowerment gives us more ability to give.

We can give first priority to service. We can accept empowerment in order to give more.

This isn’t saying that you have to give anything at all. Many people don’t.

But there can be pure joy in giving to people who receive in gratitude. People like to help you when you live in gratitude.

Some of the greatest gifts include unconditional love, attentive listening, and other forms of empowerment.

And when we empower others, we let go of guilt and become more willing to accept the goodies.
