Meditation practice seems to imply that we’re feeling blissful all the time. We’re supposed to be positive all the time. Our emotions are only happy. That’s wishful thinking.
I was raised to be a good little boy. This meant that I should be quiet. Good equals quiet and showing no negativity. Later in my life spiritual seemed to equal having only positive feelings. So I stuffed my feelings.
Stuffed feelings invite health issues. They invite social problems. They invite compulsive behavior.
We can rise above this by taking quiet time to welcome all our feelings, thoughts, emotions, and sensations.
